Growing up surrounded by the aromas of freshly roasted beans and the rich traditions of Ethiopian coffee ceremonies, our founder developed a passion that would eventually shape the foundation of our brand.
The journey started in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where the scent of roasting coffee drifted through the streets and became a symbol of comfort, connection, and culture. While our family’s roots trace back to Rwanda, Ethiopia introduced us to a coffee tradition unlike any other. The Buna ceremony was not simply about drinking coffee—it was about bringing people together, sharing stories, and appreciating life’s simple moments.
Years later, after moving to the United States, there was a longing for the authentic flavors and experiences that defined coffee back home. While many coffee options were available, few captured the depth, character, and heritage of East African coffee. This inspired the idea of sourcing exceptional beans directly from trusted farmers and roasting them with care to preserve their unique qualities.
